Influential ’80s alt-rock band The Replacements (pictured above with late guitarist Bob Stinson) have reformed after 22 years to play Riot Fest in Toronto, Denver and Chicago, taking place in August and September. The story goes that the genesis of the reunion dates back to when the band played together to help out former guitarist Slim Dunlap, who suffered a stroke in February 2012. Everyone got along, and they decided to get back to rocking after a 22-year hiatus. Interesting fact: bassist Tommy Stinson says the band never actually broke up. He’s often said that they simply walked off the stage near the end of their now-legendary last show in Grant Park in Chicago on July 4, 1991 and hadn’t gone back yet.
